Smoky Tamarind Paloma
Smoky, tart, and bright. A grown-up Paloma with real depth.
Ingredients
- 2 oz mezcal (or blanco tequila for a softer take)
- 2 oz fresh pink grapefruit juice
- 3/4 oz tamarind concentrate
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
- 1/2 oz agave syrup
- 2 oz grapefruit soda or sparkling water
- Tajín-salt rim and lime wheel, for garnish
Instructions
- Rim a Collins glass with lime juice and dip into a Tajín-salt mixture.
- Add mezcal, grapefruit juice, tamarind, lime juice, and agave to a shaker with ice.
- Shake briefly and strain over fresh ice in the prepared glass.
- Top with grapefruit soda and garnish with a lime wheel.
Why It’s Better
Real grapefruit and tamarind replace the corn syrup of bottled paloma mixes, delivering layered citrus and a savory edge. Mezcal’s natural smoke amplifies the complexity, so one well-built drink satisfies far more than a round of sweeter alternatives.
